Everybody says the first 5 years in a child’s life is a very crucial stage and his character is shaped by what he hears, sees and grasps. The mother is the most influential person in the child’s life, but once he enters the threshold of a school, the whole thing changes and the teacher becomes the primary character. He is like a sponge and soaks in everything the teacher does. The teachers may not even be aware of it. Most of the time children learn from their teachers when the teachers themselves are not aware of it.
Now a days, children come into contact with their teachers much early in their life; earlier than 5 years of age. Parents don’t have much time to spend with their children these days, which can lead a child to become close to their teachers. Children are like a lump of clay in a teacher’s hand; the teacher, through actions and words will old the child into what he becomes.
Teachers are thus very often the source of inspiration for a child. Children make teachers their idols in life and aspire to be like them. The behaviour of the teachers and the teachers approach to a particular subject actually influences the child’s grasping of the subject. If he hates the teacher, he will not learn the lesson and this will affect his overall grades. The student-teacher relationship is one of the most common relationships in the world and it is the approach of the teacher that makes all the difference.
